The Mental Capacity Act (2005) and the End of Life Care Strategy (2008) promotes forward planning in decision making for end of life care.  This will ensure dignity and respect leading up to and following death.

This one day course will consider:

• what is advance care planning
• when  to consider an advance care plan
• how to introduce an advance care plan
• how an advance care plan aids decision-making
• the End of Life Care Strategy and the influence of the Mental Capacity Act

This course is for all healthcare and social care workers who would like to increase their understanding of advanced care plans and end of life care

The course will run on 17th May or 20th October 2010 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm

The cost will be  £70-00 ~ including handouts, refreshments and lunch
