Intravenous therapies contribute to current practice in symptom management. Professional guidelines state that practitioners must demonstrate competence in administering medication, whatever the route (NMC 2008).

This one day course will consider:
 

• indications for intravenous therapy
• drug calculations
• intravenous access devices including Hickman, Groshung and PICC lines
• practical aspects of administering intravenous additives

This course is relevant to all registered nurses who are managing patients receiving intravenous therapies

The workshop will run on the  25th May and 10th November 2010 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.

The cost will be £75-00 ~ including handouts, refreshments and lunch
