The Mental Capacity Act (2005) and the End of Life Care Strategy (2008) promotes forward planning in decision making for end of life care.  This will ensure dignity and respect leading up to and following death.

This workshop will help you to:

• describe advance care planning
• identify when you need to consider an advance care plan
• discuss how you introduce an advance care plan
• explore how an advance care plan aids decision-making
• be aware of the End of Life Care Strategy and the influence of the Mental Capacity Act

This day will run on 11th July 2011 and 23rd January 2012 from 1.30 am to 4.30 pm at St Catherine's Education and Training Centre.  The course costs £45-00, including handouts and refreshments.
