Syringe Driver Workshop

Syringe drivers are commonly used in managing symptoms at the end of life.  Healthcare professionals therefore need training in effective and appropriate management of syringe drivers (End of Life Care Strategy, 2008)

This half day workshop will:

  • describe the different syringe drivers in use
  • identify the rationale behind their use
  • discuss common medications and their compatibility
  • demonstrate how to set up a Graseby syringe driver safely
  • discuss ‘troubleshooting’ if difficulties arise

DISCLAIMER:

Practical assessment of competencies will not
be undertaken during this study day

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Registered Nurses.  Other healthcare professionals
are welcome to attend. 

This day will run on 11th April, 9th September 2011 and 21st February 2012 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm at St Catherine's Education and Training Centre and costs £45 including handouts and refreshments
