      Terry O’Leary Chair of Trustees

      Appointed as Chair Elect in May 2016, Terry O’Leary works in global finance and plans to retire in 2017. Terry was born and grew up in London, before going to Oxford University to study Modern History. Now living in Horsham, St Catherine’s is close to Terry’s heart after we looked after his wife Jenny. Terry has two sons and five grandchildren.

        Catherine Blackburn

        Catherine joined us in October 2016.With a professional background in brand marketing, she currently works part-time in business consultancy and volunteers for a Surrey charity that helps disadvantaged young people get into training and employment. Away from work, Catherine’s a keen walker and regularly battles with her garden! She lives in Dorking and has one son.

          Torben Harris

          Since leaving the RAF in 2011, Torben has settled in East Grinstead. He has personal experience of our care after we looked after his father-in-law. In his own words, he was “in awe of the professionalism and dedication of all the staff.”

        • Alison Livesley
            Alison Livesley

            Alison is one of our newer Trustees. For much of her career she worked on the planning and development of Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Outside of work, Alison visits hospital patients with her two dogs Rufus and Jasper through the charity Pets as Therapy.

          • Christine Maclean
              Christine Maclean

              Christine joined us as a Trustee in October 2015. For almost 30 years, she worked in health and social care and has professional and personal links to the hospice. Today, Christine runs a consultancy and training company to support adult safeguarding. She lives with her husband Stuart, and has a son, daughter and four grandchildren.

                Anne Oates

                Anne has been a Trustee since 2013. She is currently Director of Resources for Together for Mental Wellbeing, a national charity delivering services for people with mental health problems, so with a professional background in charity finance, supporting us felt a natural fit. Anne lives in Chaldon, Caterham and in her spare time she enjoys trips to the theatre and meeting friends.

              • Yogita Patel
                  Yogita Patel

                  Yogita has a professional background in Finance and has been a Trustee since 2012. She co-authored the fourth edition of the Good Guide to Financial Management for voluntary sector organisations, and has taken on voluntary roles since her teens, including offering support via a mental health crisis line. Yogita lives in Crawley with her two young children.

                • Robin Richman
                    Robin Richman

                    Robin has been a Trustee since 2013. He’s an Accountant and Finance Director and Company Secretary of Leeds Castle in Kent. We cared for his father at home and in the hospice and Robin became a Trustee to give something back for all the help we gave him and his family. When he’s not working, Robin’s a passionate but, in his own words, average ability, golfer.

                  • Chris Shearn
                      Chris Shearn

                      Chris has supported us since 2013. As a retired GP, he has a good understanding of our care, having referred people to us and worked with our Education Department to train GP registrars. Chris spends each summer on his yacht. When he’s home he enjoys walking his three dogs, tending the garden, maintaining his 500-year-old house and seeing friends.

                        David Yates

                        David’s been a Trustee with us since October 2011. He was previously Chair of the South East Regional Board of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a senior manager in British Gas plc and Centrica. David’s Vice President of the Horley and District Probus Club and enjoys business mentoring, industrial building archaeology and swimming.
