We launched our expanded Community Care service in early 2009.

This means we provide a 7-day a week palliative care service supporting our local community.

 We believe the benefits of our Community Care service will be:

• more of those who wish to receive care and to die at home will be able to do so, in line with the Department of Health's End of Life Strategy.
• fewer unplanned admissions to the hospice or to hospital for pain and symptom management.
• more opportunities for patients to attend a variety of short-term support programmes through our day services.  These will focus on improving quality of life.

We continue to provide in-patient care for those in need of symptom control, respite care and end of life care.
