Morrisons Solicitors supporting hospices

Morrisons Solicitors launch local hospice month

Morrisons Solicitors LLP will be launching its first Local Hospice Month in October 2011. The firm has four offices located in Redhill, Woking, Wimbledon and Camberley and our chosen hospices that we are supporting are St Catherine’s for Redhill, Woking Hospice for Woking & Camberley and St Raphael’s for Wimbledon.

The initiative is designed to encourage supporters of each of the chosen hospices to make a will with Morrisons Solicitors in the hope of them including a charitable legacy in their will.  For every will drawn up where a client mentions the hospice a donation of £50 will be made by the firm.

It is hoped that this will result in greater donations to the hospice than usually received from other well known will writing initiatives. Such schemes have traditionally involved the will being prepared without charge and relied on the client making a donation to the hospice.  In our experience very small donations have been made and clients rarely include charitable bequests.

Homes Partnership supporting St Catherine's Hospice

Crawley based Estate Agent Homes Partnership has launched a new fundraising initiative in support of St Catherine’s Hospice, which looks set to raise over £2,500 a year.

Everyone who sells their property through Homes Partnership from now on will be invited to make a donation of between £10 - £50, which will then be matched by the Agents and sent to the hospice, in support of their end of life care services across mid Sussex. And in addition, all fees from probate valuations will be donated to the hospice, along with 20% of any sales commission from properties subsequently sold.

Homes Partnership Director Tracy Smith says, “We’re an independent estate agent, with one branch in the heart of Crawley for almost 20 years, and we wanted to show our support and commitment to the local community. Earlier this year, I had personal experience of what hospice care can mean at the end of life and it really made a difference to me and my family. St Catherine’s does an incredible job for people in the area, and we are hoping that our clients will support us in our aims to raise much needed funds.”
