Trek the 3 Volcanoes, Italy

24 - 29 September 2009

Enjoy some of Italy’s most spectacular scenery while scaling its three famous volcanoes. Start with Vesuvius in southern Italy best known for the explosion that buried nearby Pompeii. It’s then on to a tough, steep trek to the summit of Stromboli, which dominates the small island of Catania. The challenge culminates on the slopes of smouldering Mount Etna in Sicily, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The sense of achievement on completing this challenge will surely be worth it!

Cost: £200 deposit plus £2,000 sponsorship

The Sahara Challenge: Desert Trek and Berber Village Project

For those who fancy a few days impersonating Lawrence of Arabia in the name of a good cause, then this is just the ticket for a great charity fund raising idea! Experience the formidable and inhospitable environment of the Sahara Desert on this eight-day challenge. Enjoy the delights of Marrakech before experiencing the day-to-day life of the nomadic Berber people as you trek on camels through the desert. Finally, help improve education facilities in a small oasis town.
Cost: £250 deposit plus £1,400 sponsorship

Trek the Great Wall of China

10 – 18 October 2009
China leaves a lasting impression on all who go there. It is a country immersed in history, mythology and ancient traditions. The trek takes us along sections of the Great Wall, one of the world’s most fascinating places to visit. You will head deep into the countryside away from the places where tourists normally visit. Afterwards you have the opportunity to visit the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

 

Cost: £250 deposit plus £2,500 sponsorship
