Sunshine and smiles at the Garden and Local Produce Fair
Over 900 people attended the St Catherine’s Hospice Garden and Local Produce Fair on Thursday 20th May at Summers Place, Billingshurst, a staggering increase of 200 visitors from the previous year.
“We are delighted that so many people came, the sunshine does make a difference and everyone seemed to have a very enjoyable day whilst supporting our event that raises money for the New Horizons Appeal in aid of the Hospice”,commented volunteer organiser Sue Crofts.
Over 40 stalls offering everything from bedding plants to cheese and honey, from ducks to hanging baskets and local beer. As the volunteer ladies supplied ploughmans and cake, Simon Bates and colleague Dave Smith gave their time free to provide background jazz.
Sarah Brook, volunteer organiser, said “We owe a huge thank you to the residents of Summers Place, Berkeley Homes and Summers Place Auctions for allowing the Fair to take place at such a wonderful venue. As well as a special thank you to Berkeley Homes for their generous donation of £1,000 to the Hospice.”
The next New Horizons Appeal event in aid of the hospice is the Autumn Gift Fair at Knepp Castle, Shipley on
22nd and 23rd September.
