Schools and colleges have raised over £112,000 for St Catherine’s Hospice, helping us to continue providing high quality personalised end of life care to local people, their families, friends and carers. St Catherine’s is keen to get involved with our community and actively seeks opportunities to develop everyone’s understanding about death, dying and bereavement and how we support people at this stage of life.
Where possible, we arrange programmes of support with schools and colleges. By pledging your support to St Catherine’s for a period of time, we can work with you to make the most of your fundraising efforts and our ability to educate and inform students.
By encouraging pupils to actively support our charity and making the most of what we can offer your school, students will not only be contributing to a local hospice, they will also be learning more about us and the hospice movement in general.
St Catherine’s can provide your school with...
• Support and advice from an experienced schools fundraiser
• Assembly talks adapted to suit your student age range on a variety of subjects including the work of St Catherine’s, the hospice movement, current organisational developments and volunteering
• Visits from our clinical staff discussing topics like end of life care and euthanasia
• Professional advice for teachers about bereavement issues
• Speakers for your public fundraising events
• Assistance with local publicity
• Acknowledgement of your support on our website
In return, we ask that you help to support us. All of our suggestions for support are simple and designed to fit in with your existing plans. Please follow these links for support ideas:
