Current Opportunities

Current volunteering opportunities for St. Catherine’s Hospice are as follows:

Fundraising - Driver
One day a week using the van to pick up and replace collection boxes, pick up old toner cartridges (for recycling) and our blue bags from various places in Crawley. Knowledge of the Crawley area preferable.

Working as part of a team these roles include helping with the washing up, taking the tea trolley around the wards, on the supper duty this also includes taking the bar trolley round the ward and any other duties requested by the catering manager.
Reserves for all areas required to cover sickness and holidays

Hospice Coffee Shop
Volunteers required althate Monday's 9.30am - 1pm, alternate Saturdays 10.30am - 2.30pm and one Sunday a month 10.30am - 2.30pm to assist in our hospice based coffee shop serving patients, relatives and staff. Customer service and cash handling experience desirable although full training will be given. If you are interested please apply here

Shops - Sales Assistants

Volunteers required for our charity shops to assist on the till. Cash handling experience desirable although full training is provided - would suit someone with a cheerful disposition, who is fairly active and enjoys working within a team. Tilgate Park Shop - The Walled Garden
This lovely little shop is open 4 days a week Thurs - Sunday and we need volunteers to help 11am - 4pm. If you are interested please apply here or visit the shop.

Crawley Coffee Shop
Volunteers required for our town centre coffee shop based in the Crawley charity shop. Customer service and cash handling experience desirable although full training is provided - would suit someone with a cheerful disposition, who is fairly active and enjoys working within a team. Drivers - We require volunteers for Day Hospice (Crawley and Caterham) using their own vehicles - 9.30am to bring patients in for 10am and then again to take patients home at 3pm.  You may also be asked to take patients for hospital appointments Mon - Fri or to take deliveries to Crawley Hospital.  Mileage expenses paid (40 pence per mile).  Requirements - Clean driving licence, insurance, MOT and completion of a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) form.   If you are interested please apply here
