Do you have time available to be a volunteer?

If so St Catherine’s really needs your help.

Volunteers play an essential part in the services given by St Catherine’s Hospice. Their contribution cannot be underestimated, whilst working alongside members of staff, their commitment and skills make it possible for the hospice to function efficiently and they become valued members of the hospice team.

Over 600 volunteers help in the hospice, the 13 shops and the Friends Groups working over 1,600 hours per week equating to 47 full-time staff and based on appropriate salary levels is a resource that would otherwise cost the hospice over £600,000 per year.

As a Volunteer we hope you’ll get to:

  • Do something new and rewarding
  • Discover hidden talents
  • Make new friends
  • Gain experience
  • Make a valuable contribution to our work

All volunteers will receive support and training relevant to their roles as well the mandatory and compulsory training.

Throughout the year volunteers are invited to various social events which may include theatre trips, days out, lunches, weekend breaks and during Volunteer’s Week 1st – 7th June we also hold an awards tea for those that have completed 5, 10, 15 and 20 years service.
