• Terry O’Leary
      Terry O’Leary Chair of Trustees

      Appointed Chair Elect in May 2016, Terry O’Leary has worked in global finance and retired in 2017. Terry was born and grew up in London, before going to Oxford University to study Modern History. Now living in Horsham, St Catherine’s is close to Terry’s heart after we looked after his wife Jenny. Terry has two sons and five grandchildren.

        Alison Livesley

        Alison is one of our newer Trustees. For much of her career she worked on the planning and development of Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Outside of work, Alison visits hospital patients with her two dogs Rufus and Jasper through the charity Pets as Therapy.

      • Christine Maclean
          Christine Maclean

          Christine joined us as a Trustee in October 2015. For almost 30 years, she worked in health and social care and has professional and personal links to the hospice. Today, Christine runs a consultancy and training company to support adult safeguarding. She lives with her husband Stuart, and has a son, daughter and four grandchildren.

            Chris Shearn

            Chris has supported us since 2013. As a retired GP, he has a good understanding of our care, having referred people to us and worked with our Education Department to train GP registrars. Chris spends each summer on his yacht. When he’s home he enjoys walking his three dogs, tending the garden, maintaining his 500-year-old house and seeing friends.

              Catherine Blackburn

              Catherine joined us in October 2016.With a professional background in brand marketing, she currently works part-time in business consultancy and volunteers for a Surrey charity that helps disadvantaged young people get into training and employment. Away from work, Catherine’s a keen walker and regularly battles with her garden! She lives in Dorking and has one son.

                Nicola Wiltshire

                Nicky has a professional background in Financial Services and Operational Management. She is now also currently pursuing her interest in Wellbeing as a Career, Life and Business Coach alongside working on community projects.

                Nicky lives just outside Horsham where she enjoys spending lots of time in the countryside walking her dog and looking after ducks and chickens.

                  John Vickers

                  Born and bred in Crawley, John is passionate about how the hospice supports the local area. A chartered accountant and Charity finance specialist, John is currently the Director of Finance and Commercial Services at a fellow Charity, the Design Council. Outside of work, John enjoys hiking, painting and triathlons.

                    Jan Dowding

                    Jan has worked as a Tax professional for 25 years for several big brand companies. She now works in Tax part-time. From personal experience, she understands the benefits of palliative care for both patients and carers. She lives with her husband in East Grinstead and enjoys getting outdoors, reading and occasionally clay pigeon shooting.

                      Lisa Compton

                      Lisa has a professional background as a registered nurse; with over 35 years of health care experience, working in Accident and Emergency, Minor Injuries and general practice, and more recently, as a Director on an NHS Board. Having always worked in Surrey and Sussex, she has long been aware of St. Catherine’s and the value of the services it offers to local residents.

                        Alison Crombie

                        Alison trained as a nurse and has worked in a variety of senior director roles in the NHS and academia for over twenty five years. She is a medical anthropologist and coach. She currently works as a clinical and education adviser and holds a visiting professor role with the University of Surrey.
