Three weeks today until the Balcombe Walk

News and Blog

There’s just three weeks to go until The Balcombe Walk, in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice, but if you’ve not already signed up there’s still time!

Every year, the walk, organised by Haywards Heath Friends Group, one of St Catherine’s voluntary fundraising groups, brings together families and furry friends, to ramble through stunning Sussex countryside before enjoying homemade tea and cake.

Taking place on Sunday 10 September, walkers set off from Victory Hall in Stockcroft Road, Balcombe, from 9am, on one of four different walking routes covering four, seven, nine, or 12 miles. Taking on the four mile route? Don’t forget to keep a lookout for the special nature quiz trail for under 12’s while you’re walking!

Every year, many people enjoy walking past iconic Sussex landmarks like the Ardingly Reservoir and the Viaduct, whilst raising funds for one of their local hospices.

Emily Bradbury, Community Fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “The Balcombe Walk is a great way to enjoy the beauty of your local area, have fun with family and friends, and make sure that St Catherine’s can continue to be there to provide local terminally ill people with expert care when it’s needed most. We hope lots of you will join our Haywards Heath Friends Group and support this fantastic day out.”

The Balcombe Walk is free to enter but people are encouraged to raise sponsorship to help St Catherine’s provide expert end of life care when life comes full circle.
