Bereavement counselling at Horley Health Hub

News and Blog

A collaboration between our hospice and Healthy Horley PCN means we’re now able to provide bereavement counselling from the Horley Health Hub.

A bereavement counselling service is being offered to patients of the three PCN practices with one of our qualified volunteer counsellors.

We’re thrilled to offer three counselling slots a week at the Hub, supporting local people.

The aim is to provide counselling for people closer to where they live, extend the reach of our hospice, and to support people to connect with other local services available within their community.

“By working in partnership with the PCN approach we are able to offer our expert hospice services to people living in Horley and the surrounding areas and aim to raise the profile of the hospice amongst the GP practices and local community,” said Dennis Murray, our volunteer counsellor at the Horley Health Hub. “So far it’s been well received and gives people the opportunity to see the other services now at the Health Hub – such as coffee mornings and gardening clubs.”

Dr Tom Rustom, Clinical Director for the Healthy Horley PCN added, “We’re very pleased to be hosting these sessions at the Horley Health Hub. It’s good to be able to offer this service to our patients without them having to travel further afield. So far it’s working well and we look forward to closer working with the hospice in the future.”

We offer a range of support for bereaved people so if you or anyone you know would find this helpful please take a look or share these resources.
