We’re calling on the community to get quizzical!
We’re calling on you, and your family and friends to test your knowledge in our weekly The Big Fat Orange Quiz!
Last week we launched our first quiz with great success. More than 200 people joined us online for three rounds of questions, including an orange themed round, as a nod to our orange brand, and raised nearly £2,000 in the process.
This week we’re hoping even more people will join us on Facebook on Wednesday 29 April from 8pm for our second The Big Fat Orange Quiz!
Coming to you in the comfort of your own home, via a Facebook live stream, we’re encouraging you to have some fun alongside others in your community whilst raising vital funds so our hospice can continue to be there for everyone who needs our expert care. All you need to take part is a pen and paper.
Peter Nesbitt, Volunteering Manager at our hospice, had the honour of hosting the hospice’s first Big Orange quiz. He said, “I was quite nervous beforehand as hosting a virtual quiz is different from the day job! But it was a fantastic evening. It was great to see so many people in our community playing along, and to see so many of our volunteers, support staff and nurses take part too. It was really nice for our clinical staff to see people’s messages of support for the amazing work they’re doing providing dedicated care and support on the frontline come through live. Personally, I was really overwhelmed by the level of support for St Catherine’s too. Seeing donations continue to rise was really exciting and the amount we raised exceeded all our expectations. The money people generously donated will make a huge difference. It will allow us to support even more local people through this challenging time. We can’t thank everyone enough and we’re already looking forward to quiz number two!”
