Our 18 month programme of building works is beginning!
Paul Rycroft, our New Build Delivery and Collaboration Director, shares the latest update on our new hospice building.
“I’m pleased to say that our main construction work has started today- it’s a really exciting milestone as it’s the start of a programme of works that will take 18 months.
These first couple of weeks will be spent preparing the area that will become our main hospice car park and putting temporary site services and offices into place. As well as the site facilities, the car park area will provide storage for materials and a safe place for lorries to manoeuvre away from the wider Pease Pottage development.
On the building footprint, preparatory work will also get underway for the foundations. This involves providing a hard standing that the piling rig can operate from as it puts in place the 286 piles that will form the building foundation.
