This course is recommended for qualified nurses or doctors who are unfamiliar with the syringe pumps and want to use syringe pumps for palliative care patients.
By end of session you should be able to:
- Give a brief account of the clinical indications for use of the Syringe Pump.
- Identify sites that may be used for infusion
- List the equipment necessary
- Show how to set up and monitor the syringe pump
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe prescribing and the administering of drugs
- Understand best practice in documentation
- Be able to trouble shoot
Please note, competency must be assessed by your place of work in accordance with your place of work’s policy.
Price: Fully funded by NHS Sussex – open to all Sussex employees in health and social care.
