Locum Consultant

Description

We are seeking a locum consultant to cover maternity leave for approximately 12 months from October 2017.

St Catherine's Hospice provides palliative care in Crawley, Horsham, Mid Sussex, East Surrey and Dorking. This post would be predominantly based in the East Surrey area as consultant lead for our community team who work there and would provide consultant input to one of the inpatient wards at St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley. The role specification can be adapted depending on the number of sessions worked.

This opportunity would be a great opportunity for a specialty registrar who is approaching their CCT or a newly qualified consultant who is seeking additional experience prior to taking on a permanent post. The locum is to cover a full time post however we would also welcome applicants who prefer to work less than full time. You would be working with a team of three other consultants, one of whom is Medical Director, two specialty doctors, a range of specialty trainees and a team of specialist nurses.

Additional opportunities include involvement in service development, teaching, governance and acting as clinical supervisor for palliative medicine, CMT, Foundation and GP trainees.
