Volunteer Shop Assistant

We are looking for volunteers to help in our charity shops. Our 14 charity shops across Sussex and Surrey are a vital way for us to raise important funds for St Catherine’s Hospice and we couldn’t do it without a team of hardworking volunteers. We’re currently looking for enthusiastic, friendly and motivated people to join us as new shop volunteers and help make a difference to the people we care for.

As a St Catherine’s Hospice volunteer shop assistant you’ll be involved in all sorts of activities and tasks in our charity shops: from helping with window dressing and sorting donations, to working behind the till and offering excellent customer service to our customers. The role will be hugely varied and can be flexible to your needs and interests, offering a rewarding experience while helping raise much needed income for the charity.

Volunteering with St Catherine's is a brilliant way of getting out and staying in touch. I'm a great believer that you get more joy from giving than receiving and I get a real, feel-good factor knowing I'm doing something good for the world and utilising my skills and experience.  I'd say just give it a try. I guarantee you'll enjoy it." – Peter, Volunteer in our Crawley Shop.

Volunteering in a St Catherine’s charity shop will not only provide you with excellent experience in retail and customer service, but is also a hugely rewarding way to meet new people and make a huge difference to a local charity.

You’ll get to work alongside a great team of other volunteers, who help us to sort and sell up to 378,000 items  in our charity shops – will you be there to help us raise even more money in the future?
