Movement and Exercise Resources

Keeping active is really important for those living with a terminal illness, and can have lots of benefits; from helping to reduce physical symptoms, help to increase your energy and reduce fatigue. Keeping moving can also have a real impact on your mental wellbeing, helping to improve mood and combat stress.

We’ll be updating this section of our website with some more useful videos and resources to help keep you active at home very soon.

Below is a guided, seated Tai-Chi video led by Lianne from our St Catherine’s Hospice therapy team. This video has been made for patients of St Catherine’s Hospice to continue to be able to participate in a form of gentle exercise.

Please only join in if you are safe to, and have not been advised by a medical professional that you should not exercise. If you experience any pain, discomfort or shortness of breath during the exercise please stop. Seek medical assistance if required.

If you are unsure if you should be exercising, contact the St Catherine’s therapy team on Livingwell@stch.org.uk to arrange an assessment by telephone.
