Another £1 million milestone for our hospice lottery 

As we wrap up the financial year, we’re celebrating a truly incredible milestone – our lottery has raised another £1 million for our hospice.  

Even more impressively, since it began, the lottery has now raised over £17 million towards our specialist care. That’s an extraordinary legacy made possible by the loyal and steady support of our amazing lottery members – some of whom have been playing since the lottery began nearly 30 years ago. 

What makes this milestone all the more remarkable? Every penny of this impressive total comes from monthly contributions of as little as £5. This is a powerful reminder that small gifts, when made consistently and collectively, can achieve something hugely impactful. 

We’re reminded of how wonderful our lottery members are every week. 

We may not always hear how winners choose to spend their prize, but one thing is certain, they’re often delighted and genuinely surprised to find out they’ve won. And it’s always a joy to share this moment with them. 

This conversation is made all the more special when people tell us they would like to give their winnings to our hospice. This year, an incredible £14,760 in prize money has been donated back by kind-hearted winners. It’s moments like these that really highlight the compassion and connection at the heart of our lottery community.

“This past year has been one of the most financially challenging in our hospice’s history. But we’re so grateful for the ongoing support of our lottery members who continue to stand by us and make such an important difference. Without their monthly contributions, our nursing and medical colleagues couldn’t provide specialist care to local people who need it. As we look forward to the next financial year, we’re excited to achieve more fantastic things with our brilliant lottery members.”
