Our community are busy fundraising for us throughout September
As late summer arrives and a hint of Autumn sets in, are you looking for entertainment and fun to offset the darker evenings? Here’s your guide to upcoming events across Sussex and Surrey, being run by our amazing supporters alongside official St Catherine’s activities, which you can attend. Book your spot, have some fun and raise money to support our vital work.
Nineties Daytime Rave
Saturday 6 September
7-9 Park Place, Horsham, West Sussex
Jump on the daytime rave trend with an afternoon 90s dance party like no other! For £12.50 per person, you’ll enjoy four hours of (probably) the best decade of music. No dressing up required, but it’s welcomed!

Balcombe Craft Market
Saturday 13 September
Victory Hall, Balcombe Village, RH17 6HP, West Sussex
A really buzzing craft market with lots of unique stalls, including plants, crafts, jewellery, pottery, food, books and more.
Alison, who is taking part in Trek Cambodia for our hospice, has a stall at Balcombe Craft market where she’ll be selling her handmade soft toys, bags, bunting and baby clothes to raise vital funds to support our care. No need to book in advance. Just come along between 10am and 2pm.
Mission Inquizzical – Quiz Night

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join us for an evening of trivia, teamwork, and top-tier fun. Whether you’re a walking Wikipedia, a pop culture guru, or just want to have an enjoyable evening with a bit of healthy competition, our new quiz nights are for you and your colleagues. Expect laughs, surprises, a little chaos, and a whole lot of team spirit.
Mission Inquizzical is for businesses across Surrey and Sussex. Gather a team of 4-6 people and join us to meet other organisations, enjoy some friendly rivalry, and know that your fun will help St Catherine’s Hospice provide vital care in your community.
Betchworth Park Golf Day with St Catherine’s Golf Society
Monday 18 September
Betchworth Park Golf Club, Reigate Road, Dorking, Surrey
Due to popular demand, St Catherine’s Golf Society is back at Betchworth Park. The 18-hole course is nestled in the North Downs and overlooked by Box Hill beauty spot with stunning views amongst a challenging parkland course situated just outside Dorking.
Meet late morning for coffee and bacon rolls, before playing a full 18 holes. Then finish the day with a wonderful meal, during which prizes, raffles, and an auction will take place.
Play will be in a four-ball format, but don’t worry if you cannot make up a team, the Golf Society will mix and match you up with others on the day.

Run Barns Green
Sunday 28 September
Muntham Drive, Horsham, West Sussex
Run Barns Green is a festival of running for all the family, with a half marathon, 10k and 5k race to choose from – as well the Jennings Junior Jog (a colour run) for children. The routes are run on closed roads through the beautiful West Sussex countryside, with the half marathon and 10k passing through the historic Christ’s Hospital School.
St Catherine’s are thrilled to be the nominated charity for the event and look forward to cheering on all the runners.
If you’d like to take part for our hospice, please sign up through the Run Barns Green website. Choose to run for St Catherine’s when you register. We will then be notified so we can make contact and help you kickstart your fundraising.
