Our East Grinstead shop is moving!

News and Blog

Our East Grinstead charity shop is moving to bigger premises and we cannot wait to welcome you through our doors.

We’ve had a store in the town for over 20 years, enabling local residents to feel connected to St Catherine’s Hospice, whilst providing an easy way for them to support our care.

We’ll be moving just a few doors up on London Road, and will open to the public on Wednesday 3 April. Our new larger space will allow us to stock and sell more quality items, helping us to raise more funds for St Catherine’s.

The shop will offer pre-loved books, toys, clothing, and bric-a-brac, and – following the success of Catherine’s Bridal in our Horsham shop – will also house a stunning selection of pre-loved bridal and occasion wear. We hope it will become the place to go for eco-conscious brides, grooms, and prom-goers alike, as well as providing other sustainable shoppers with an amazing place to visit for all their needs.

Gary Powis, Head of Trading, said

“The people of East Grinstead do so much for St Catherine’s, and their support and generosity is hugely important to the care we provide to local families. We’re thrilled to be moving into a bigger store and are really looking forward to welcoming back our loyal customers, as well as inviting lots of new faces through the doors.”

We’re after volunteers to help make our new shop a huge success.

Do you want a flexible, rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference? Would you like to develop your customer service skills or gain experience in retail? Perhaps you know someone who does. If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and motivated people to join the team. From window dressing and sorting precious donations, to working behind the till and offering excellent customer service, the role of a Volunteer Shop Assistant is hugely varied. It can be flexible to your needs and interests, offering a rewarding experience while helping us to raise much needed income for our hospice.

Yvonne Solloway, Shop Manager, said:

“Our volunteers are hugely important to us and I certainly couldn’t run my shop without their skills, knowledge, and support. This is a really exciting time to join our expanding team as we set up our new store and introduce Catherine’s Bridal to the town. You’ll be joining a friendly group of local people all working together to make a real difference.”
