Our new East Grinstead shop is officially open! 

St Catherine’s are thrilled to have opened a wonderful new shop in the heart of East Grinstead this week.  

Just a few doors up from our previous store on London Road, our new premises offer much more space, allowing us to sell more of the quality items our customers are used to, and introduce some exciting new additions. 

Gary, Head of Trading, said: 

“We are thrilled to open our doors to the public. The people of East Grinstead really care about St Catherine’s, and their support makes such a difference to those we look after. It’s fantastic to offer them even more quality products so they can continue to help us raise much-needed funds for the hospice.” 

As well as the usual clothing, toys, books, and bric-a-brac, our new shop also sells refurbished bikes. In partnership with Recycle Your Cycle, these bikes have been expertly repaired and restored, making them a fun, safe, and reliable way to shop preloved. Our store also proudly incorporates Catherine’s Bridal – our stunning collection of bridal and occasion wear – which we hope will become popular among local people when they’re shopping for their special events.  

The store officially opened on Thursday 4 April when our longest serving East Grinstead shop volunteers Annie and Margaret cut the ribbon. 

Margaret, who has volunteered with our hospice for over 22 years, said: 

“I absolutely love the new shop. It’s been so exciting getting it ready and setting everything up ready for our customers. The areas we have for sorting, steaming, and labelling donations are excellent and mean we can process things a lot quicker.” 

Annie’s husband was cared for by St Catherine’s 26 years ago. She’s been volunteering in our East Grinstead shop ever since. Annie said:  

“I was incredibly proud and honoured to be asked to cut the ribbon to declare the new shop open. I have been telling all my friends about our new store and how different it is. The additional space is going to make such a difference. The new bridal section is beautiful and the bikes on sale are fantastic.”
