Now we’re in our new hospice at Grace Holland Avenue in Pease Pottage, we wanted to share some of our new spaces, each designed to be as homely and comfortable as possible for all those we care for.
Our new hospice
We’re situated in the heart of the Woodgate development overlooking a village green and children’s playground, making it easy for everyone to access our hospice
Reception coffee lounge
A comfortable, welcoming space when you first enter our hospice, complete with complimentary refreshments.
Ward rooms
Each with an en-suite bathroom and private garden space, some rooms also have family areas so relatives can stay close overnight.
Spa bathroom
Equipped with a hoist so people can enjoy a relaxing spa bath during their time with us. For many people this is the first bath they’ve been able to enjoy for a while.
Nursing station
Are situated in the centre of each corridor on our Meadow and Woodland wards. This means staff are easily accessible to provide help and support at all times.
Family lounge
Communal space on our ward for families and visitors to relax, make refreshments and meet with other families.
Wellbeing centre
A multi-purpose space where people can socialise with others in a similar situation, get advice, and enjoy wellbeing activities and exercise classes.
Therapy gym
Our therapy team use the gym to run classes, outpatients’ appointments and deliver tailored rehabilitation to people staying on our wards.
Reflective space
A peaceful room for people to pray and reflect whilst looking out onto our reflective courtyard. This room is also home to treasured memory leaves.
Reflective Courtyard
Recently planted, our courtyard will grow into a beautiful garden that people can access from our Reflective Space. Our Memory Tree from Malthouse Road will also be moved to our new courtyard shortly.
Woodgate Hub
A community room located opposite our hospice perfect for hosting a wide range of events including meetings, celebrations, activity classes and training sessions. This space is bookable by the public with profits supporting St Catherine’s. For more information and to book the space, please visit www.woodgatehub.org.
