Sue’s artwork is often inspired by the landscape surrounding of her studio and Sunny Sussex is a reflection of her feelings and illustrates the beauty of the Sussex countryside. Her use of bright, sunny colours is juxtaposed by darker silhouette tones, to reflect the hope that is brought by St Catherine’s Hospice during difficult, darker times. Her use of nature also ties in with the hospice’s ambition to be there for patients and their families in Sussex and Surrey when life comes full circle. In the same way that nature follows a similar circle of life. Sue has used her skills in both print and design to create multiple tones and layers to her heart. Local transport company, Metrobus, felt this was the perfect heart for them to sponsor.
Sue is a Hassocks based artist who specialises in print and design art. Using a combination of photography and sketching, her art is inspired by her surroundings, her personal experiences and her childhood growing up in South Devon and Cornwall.
