Host a quiz and support your local hospice
The pandemic has meant many of our fundraising events and activities can’t go ahead, so we’re facing a severe shortfall in our funding. Help us by having some quiz-tastic fun and raise some money for St Catherine’s at the same time!
A virtual quiz, hosted over apps such as Zoom, WhatsApp video chat, Facebook Live, Microsoft Teams or House Party can work out really well when you can’t meet in person. Quizzes are sociable, fun and suitable for everyone, plus a great way to keep in touch with people at the current time whilst also raising money for your local hospice.
General knowledge? Sport? History? The options are virtually limitless! You can either make up your own quiz or get in touch with us for one to get you started.
Simply set a date, set up a Just Giving Page for your quiz night and suggest a donation amount per person for entry (£5 per person or any amount your quiz-goers choose).
Nominate a quiz master, gather some questions and get ready to get quizzical!
Volunteer Manager Peter Nesbitt was our host with the most across lockdown, running regular live quiz nights on our St Catherine’s Facebook page. Here’s a few of his tips on hosting a successful quiz:
Results take minutes, can be printed or downloaded in a format that suits you, and allows you to easily create a poster or leaflet for your very own St. Catherine’s fundraiser!
Create an account and design your own posters, flyers and more…
Angie De’Ath and her family’s music-themed quiz – including a Pictionary style round (can you guess the album in the picture?) – raised a fantastic £300 when they invited their friends to play. Thanks Angie and crew!
When we heard of the difficulties St Catherines were having with lost revenue through cancelled events, we wanted to help.We were already doing a weekly quiz and kitchen disco with family and recycled our turn – a music quiz – to a group of local friends who were willing to participate. They already knew about the brilliant work done at the hospice and out in the community so were very happy to support by making a donation and together raised over £300.00.
So, if you are ready to Get Quizzical and start fundraising for us, help us provide the best end of life care for people in your community by setting up a Just Giving page.
