Our next Christmas tree collection will take place from Saturday 9 to Tuesday 12 January 2027. Bookings will open on Sunday 15 November 2026.
Skip the tip and the pine needle explosion in your car and have your real Christmas tree collected straight from your door for a suggested £20 donation. Our friendly team of volunteers, working in partnership with the charity JustHelping, will take care of everything for you, saving you time, effort, and hassle after the busy festive season.
Simply leave your tree outside your home on Saturday 9 January and our “tree”-mendous team of volunteers will take it away on Saturday 9, Monday 10 or Tuesday 11 January in return for a donation to our hospice. We suggest £20, but we’re grateful for whatever you can afford. Every donation makes a difference.
We’re collecting across the following areas:
- Crawley: RH10 & 11
- Horsham: RH12 & RH13 0, 5, 6 and 9
- Redhill – RH1
- Reigate – RH2
- Horley – RH6
- Lingfield and Dormansland – RH7 6
- Oxted – RH8 0 and 9
- Godstone and Tandridge – RH9
- East Grinstead – RH19
We’re sorry if we’re not collecting trees in your postcode area this year. We hope to be able to expand our collection area every year and be able to collect your tree in the future.
What you need to know:
- We can only collect real trees and cannot remove artificial ones.
- Please remove any decorations, take the tree out of the pot (if it has one) or remove the base. We cannot remove or recycle these.
- Your tree must be ready to collect by 8am on Saturday 9 January.
- Your tree may be collected on Saturday 9, Monday 11 or Tuesday 12 January. We cannot confirm what day or time your tree will be collected.
- Your tree must be left in a visible location on the path in front of your property – without causing obstruction. Due to our Health and Safety Policy, our volunteers cannot enter your property (e.g. house, garden, gated driveway) or any confined spaces to access your tree.
Volunteers needed!
We’re looking for Volunteer Drivers and Volunteer Christmas Tree Assistants to collect trees and support with the running of the project. With your help, we hope to raise more than £17,000 to fund vital hospice care.
Dates: Saturday 9 January, Monday 11 January, Tuesday 12 January and Friday 15 January (our mop day). You can volunteer for one, two, three or all four days!
Locations:We are collecting across the following areas: Crawley, Horsham, Redhill, Reigate, Horley, Lingfield, Dormansland, Oxted, Godstone, Tandridge, East Grinstead. We will ask your preference when you sign up, and will do our best to assign you in or near this area.
Volunteer Driver
You will be given a set route to follow, collecting around 40 trees. Once your van is full, you will head to the drop-off point to unload the trees for recycling before continuing your route.
You will need access to your own van, and we recommend bringing a friend or family member to act as your Volunteer Christmas Tree Assistant – they’ll also need to register their details with us. If you don’t have someone who can help you, we can pair you up with one of our other volunteers.
Volunteer Christmas Tree Assistants
Joining a driver on their route, you will assist by loading trees and supporting navigation. Alternatively, you may be based at one of our drop sites across Surrey and Sussex, where you will greet drivers when they return and help them to unload their trees. You will also support with the administration of the project, such as reporting missed trees or handing out new routes. Full training will be provided.
