We’re on week 11 of our build!
Paul Rycroft, our New Build Delivery and Collaboration Director, provides an update on how our hospice building is progressing.
“Work on our new building achieved another milestone this week.
We started to pour the concrete that forms the ground beams.
This grid of concrete provides the base for our steelwork structure to bolt to. By the end of this week, this first section of concrete will be firm enough for the steel building structure to be bolted into place.
Work will start with the barn structure that houses our reception area and then our builders will continue assembling back towards the single storey wards.
We are now in week 11 of our build programme and the work to date has mainly been the preparation in the ground.
The next few weeks will really see the form of the building take shape – exciting times!”
