The fibreglass heart base has been overlaid with hundreds of clay hearts by artist Susan. Each intricate clay piece has been designed and cut by hand and intricately laid together. Each clay heart bears a thumb print of people connected to the hospice, ranging from patients to volunteers, therapists and support staff. Nestled amongst the hearts are single clay forget me knots, combining to create a striking and truly unique finish. Susan’s piece has been sponsored by the people of Horsham in a community campaign named ‘Hearts for Horsham’.
Susan’s main artistic influences include her love of animals, dogs in particular, and nature. She enjoys working in a variety of different mediums and particularly enjoys bespoke commission work, to create her client’s vision.
