Become a Hospice Hero and abseil for us
We’re calling all thrill-seekers to combat their fears and join us for their 100ft Hospice Hero Abseil.
We’re returning with our exhilarating challenge on the outside of the Sandman Signature Hotel in Crawley on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 April 2019.
If you’re looking to add an extra element of excitement to the event, for the first time this year, you can abseil under the stars on the evening of Friday 5 April! Moonlit places are limited, so make sure you book your place soon to avoid missing out. On Saturday, more opportunities are available to scale the wall in true Spiderman style and enjoy the expansive views from the Sandman Signature Hotel during the daytime.
Local businesses who dare to go over the edge are encouraged to enter teams and support us during the daytime on Friday 5 April. What’s more, if they enter a team of four, they’ll get a free place to challenge another colleague to take the plunge!
Bernard Harrington, who took part in our 2016 abseil said: “The superhero abseil was fantastic! I decided to challenge myself to face my fears all whilst raising money for St Catherine’s. I was very nervous to begin with, but the whole day, from the welcoming smiles to the celebratory refreshments at the end, was amazing! I’d love to do it again.”
Louise Wise, our Events Fundraiser said: “This exciting event is perfect for anyone who wants to challenge themselves, or perhaps even face their fears, whilst supporting us. Each hospice hero who goes over the edge for us will be helping to make sure we can be there for everyone who needs us in our local community.”
Registration for this exciting event is just £25. Abseilers will also be asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £195. Currently we can only reach one in three people who need us, but with your bravery, we can reach everyone who needs us when life comes full circle.
