Whether you’re a seasoned green fingered gardener, or just discovering the joys of gardening, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved this Spring. So grab your trowels, dust off your gardening gloves, and let’s grow together so that we can be there for more people in your local community when they need us most.
Plus, if you raise £100 for our hospice, you’ll receive a free St Catherine’s orange tool and an invite to an exclusive thank you party!
Ideas and inspiration
Open your gorgeous garden
Open your garden gates to the local community to showcase the stunning landscape on your back door step in return for a donation. Boost your fundraising further by offering refreshments and donating the profit!
Sell your plants and produce
Organise a plant or produce sale featuring a variety of flowers, herbs, vegetables, and succulents. You could host a sale from your garden, at local markets, community centers, or even online.
Host a garden party
Invite your family and friends to a garden party and ask for a donation to attend. Go wild with party games, a bake sale, a raffle or scavenger hunt to keep everyone entertained (and supercharge your fundraising)!
Challenge your friends
Challenge your loved ones to a growing competition. It could be the tallest sunflower, biggest marrow, or who can keep their cactus alive the longest. Entry donations can be split between the winner and our hospice.
Share your skills
Got a special skill that you could teach? Why not lead a workshop showcasing your talents to your less green-fingered friends – it could be anything from floristry, to your knowledge on growing through the seasons.
Seedling starter kits
Put together seedling starter kits with everything needed to grow a specific plant, such as herbs or flowers. These kits can be sold at events or online, and they make excellent gifts for gardeners of all levels.

I am in my element when propagating and growing plants and love meeting other garden enthusiasts. It’s been a pleasure to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice over the past 3 years through the selling of plants from our home. It has provided us the opportunity of meeting some lovely people who have been extremely supportive and has seen us raise almost £8000. Joy and Ray, who run plants sales for us continuously from February to October.
