Visiting us
We provide care and support to people on our Ward and if you would like to visit someone you’re very welcome to do so.
We have some processes in place to help keep you, and everyone else at the hospice, as safe as possible. We appreciate your help with these.
- Visiting hours are between 10am and 7pm. We are very happy to work with you if wish to visit outside of these times.
- There is no need to call in advance to let us know you’re planning to visit, but please do report to reception upon arrival and sign out when you leave. This helps us to monitor the number of people in the hospice in case of an emergency.
- There may be instances where we need to limit the number of visitors to ensure everyone’s safety. We kindly ask that you work with us during these rare occasions.
- There is a coffee machine in reception which you are welcome to use between 6.30am and 8.30pm. Tea and coffee making facilities are also available in the Family Lounge on Meadow Ward which you can use at any time.
- There is a café located opposite our hospice, which is open to the public Monday-Sunday, 9am-3.30pm.
There is a friendly receptionist on duty seven days a week, between 8.30am and 6pm. Outside of these times, we lock the main hospice doors so please just ring the doorbell which is located in the ambulance bay to the right of the main entrance.
Help protect those we care for
We are fortunate to have avoided any recent Norovirus outbreaks at St Catherine’s Hospice. However, as Norovirus is particularly prevalent in the wider community this year, we kindly remind everyone to not visit the hospice if you have any symptoms of Norovirus or have been suffering with nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours. This is to protect those we care for.
The best way to avoid Norovirus is to frequently wash your hands thoroughly following hand washing guidance.
Assistance animals and pets are welcome to visit loved ones at the hospice. We just ask that they are fully vaccinated and have had regular flea and worm treatment.
