Clinical Commissioning Director meets patients and carers

News and Blog

Last month, St Catherine’s user group, Voices of Experience, pulled off a real coup by meeting with a Director for Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Tim Moore.

Consultations are currently being held to improve end of life care services in the local area and Tim was keen to discuss proposals with people who have experience of St Catherine’s services before proposals were rolled out.

One proposal the group fed back on was creating a more joined-up system that would allow multiple services to access a patient’s Advance Care Plan. The group were assertive in their belief that any sharing of such details had to be at the discretion of the patient and their family. Tim was very grateful for the group’s input and said their opinions would be taken into consideration moving forward.

It’s yet another great example of St Catherine’s helping shape future plans for end of life care and putting patients and their relatives at the centre of local decision making.
