Description

Help us be there when life comes full circle and volunteer in one of our charity shops in Sussex and Surrey.

Our 15 charity shops across Sussex and Surrey are a vital way for us to raise important funds for St Catherine’s Hospice and we couldn’t do it without a team of hardworking volunteers. We’re currently looking for enthusiastic, friendly and motivated people to join us as new shop volunteers and help make a difference to the people we care for.

As a St Catherine’s Hospice shop volunteer you’ll be involved in all sorts of activities and tasks in our charity shops: from helping with window dressing and sorting donations, to working behind the till and offering excellent customer service to our customers. The role will be hugely varied and very flexible to your needs and interests, and you can take on as many or as little different activities as you’d like.

Volunteering with St Catherine's is a brilliant way of getting out and staying in touch. I'm a great believer that you get more joy from giving than receiving and I get a real, feel-good factor knowing I'm doing something good for the world and utilising my skills and experience.  I'd say just give it a try. I guarantee you'll enjoy it." – Peter, Volunteer in our Crawley Shop.

Volunteering in a St Catherine’s charity shop will not only provide you with excellent experience in retail and customer service, but is also a hugely rewarding way to meet new people and make a huge difference to a local charity.

You’ll get to work alongside a great team of other volunteers and hospice staff, and see firsthand the difference fundraising makes to the care we provide out in the local community. Last year, more than 378,000 items were sold in our charity shops, and this wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of our incredible volunteers – will you be there to help us raise even more money in the future?

“Volunteering has made a real difference to my life. It's helped me with my university applications and I've now got an unconditional offer to study ecology. I'm also much more confident, and volunteering in the shop has helped with my social skills and talking to people.” – Emily, Volunteer in our Horsham Shop
