Make a Will Fortnight 2017
Do you need to make or change your will? If so, here’s a chance to put your affairs in order and support St Catherine’s Hospice.
Why you should make a will
Having a will is the only way to be sure that when you die, those you care about benefit in the way you’d like. Changes in your life may mean that even if you have a will, it might need updating to reflect your changing wishes and circumstances.
Making a will is very easy and many of us put off making one. Our Make a Will Fortnight gives you the chance to make sure your affairs are in order.
How the scheme works
From 8 – 19 May 2017, solicitors from across Sussex and East Surrey have kindly agreed to set aside a limited number of appointments, free of charge, to help you make or update your will.
Instead of paying the solicitor for their professional advice, we ask you to make a donation to St Catherine’s.
Some suggested minimum donations are below – please consider the value of the time and advice given by your solicitor:
The suggested minimum donations are:
• Single will – £100
• Joint wills – £150
By taking part in Make a Will Fortnight, you will know that those closest to you will be looked after and that you’re helping local people – you could even save yourself some money too.
All our care is free of charge. As a charity, we’re supported by our local community who donate around £6 million each year so that we can offer our tailored care when people need us the most. Last year, we cared for 2,305 people living with a life limiting illness, and one in four of these patients were funded by gifts left in wills.
Once you’ve provided for your loved ones, a gift to St Catherine’s in your will would be much appreciated, although you’re not obliged to do so.
By taking part in Make a Will Fortnight, you can help us be there when life comes full circle.
In order to book your appointment, please contact one of the participating solicitors, quoting “St Catherine’s Hospice Make a Will Fortnight”. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let your solicitor know so it may be offered to someone else.
For further information, please contact Andy Perry at St Catherine’s on 01293 447369 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
