Do you need to make or change your will?
If so, here’s a chance to put your affairs in order and support St Catherine’s Hospice at the same time.
Why you should make a will
Having a will is the only way to be sure that when you die, those you care about benefit in the way you’d like. Changes during your life may mean that even if you have a will, it might need updating to reflect your wishes and circumstances. Making a will is very easy, but many of us put off making one. Our Make a Will Fortnight gives you the chance to make sure your affairs are in order.
How the scheme works
From 14-25 May 2018, solicitors across Sussex and Surrey are coming together to help you make or update your will. The solicitors involved are generously giving up their time to help the hospice and instead of paying the solicitor for their professional advice, we ask you to make a donation to St Catherine’s Hospice.
Some suggested minimum donations are below, but please consider the value of the time and advice given by your solicitor:
- Single will – £120
- Joint wills – £180
By taking part in Make a Will Fortnight, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing those you care about will be looked after and in doing so, you’re helping local people.
As a charity, we’re supported by our local community so that we can be there when and where people need help the most. Last year, we cared for around 2,000 people living with a terminal illness, with the care provided to one in four patients made possible thanks to gifts left to the hospice by people in their wills.
We understand family and friends come first, but when making your will please consider including a gift to St Catherine’s. By including a gift in your will, you will ensure that local people receive expert care and support in the future, when life comes full circle.
