Our fabulous fundraisers!

News and Blog

The care we provide to local families is only possible thanks to the generosity of our community. From cycling and skydiving to cake sales, quizzes, marathons, and garden parties, our amazing supporters really do go above and beyond to ensure we can care for more families living with a life-limiting condition.

This week we are shining a spotlight on some of our fantastic fundraisers to say a massive thank you for standing by us, and those that we care for.

First up is Paul Coleman. Over the course of a month, Paul cycled an impressive 690 miles in memory of his wife Jackie, who was cared for by St Catherine’s. With the support of Three Bridges Football Club, Paul raised an incredible £1609 for our charity.

Aged between just 2 and 4 years old, the children from Acorn Cottage Nursery are definitely some of the youngest (and cutest!) fundraisers we’ve had. They held their own Bake Off and raised a brilliant £90.77. It was wonderful to welcome the children to the hospice recently so we could thank them properly for their fantastic fundraising feat.

Next up is David Gubb. David and his friends at Slinfold Tennis Club raised an incredible £280 for our charity by hosting a quiz night. David is also one of our dedicated volunteer drivers who generously gives up his time to help our fundraising team and support at our events – he really is a hospice hero!

In November, a group of our most adventurous supporters are taking on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge and trekking to Petra to fundraise for St Catherine’s. Some of our trekkers recently held a bucket collection at Three Bridges Football Club to help them towards their target. You can support them too by visiting their JustGiving page. If you would like to join the team on this incredible trip you can find out more here.

Last but not least is Andrew Pewter. Over four days, Andrew walked 100 miles from Worthing to Hythe. He took on this challenge in memory of his mum, Marie, who was cared for by the hospice. Andrew raised an amazing £3,435  – what a fantastic total.

A huge thank you, and well done, to all our fabulous fundraisers. Your support means we can continue to care for local families across Sussex and East Surrey who are facing death and loss.
