“Exceptional” Welfare Advice from St Catherine’s

News and Blog

Nine in 10 of our patients and carers would recommend our welfare advice to friends and family.

The Welfare Team recently sent a survey to those who have used the service to ask for feedback on the support and advice they received. Responses were overwhelmingly positive.

St Catherine’s Welfare Service helps patients and those closest to them with support and advice on queries ranging from benefits and housing through to disabled parking badges, writing a will or information about a lasting power of attorney.

The survey also highlighted the need for St Catherine’s to provide this kind of service. 83% of people said that if St Catherine’s didn’t provide a Welfare Service, they wouldn’t have known where to go for support and advice.

People were also given chance to explain how the Welfare Service helped them. There were some touching responses including:

“A truly exceptional service from experienced staff who helped us through a minefield of the unknown at a very stressful and emotional time.”

“Advice was very useful and I would not have known about it otherwise. A great help. Thank you.”
