An update on our new hospice

New Hospice News

Here, Paul Rycroft, our New Build and Collaboration Director, gives an update on how the building of our new hospice is progressing.

“We are now on week 3 of our 76 week build programme

Much of this initial activity is groundworks, readying the site for foundations and then the steel frame due in June.  This week, despite Wednesday’s rain, a beautiful Thursday morning means that preparation can continue – setting out a hard standing across the footprint of our building so that a piling rig can come onto site and put in place 286 piles that will form the foundation of the hospice. In addition, haul roads to provide access for the construction equipment and site cabins are being installed so that the construction team can work effectively.

We also continue our engagement with the local community living at Pease Pottage with the first in a series of newsletters being posted through local resident’s doors, advising them of what activities to expect regarding the building of our new hospice over the next few weeks.”
