From Little Acorns Grow…

New Hospice News

As our new build grows from the ground up, so do our new trees for the future.

Local business, Stiles Harold and Williams (SHW), have chosen St Catherine’s as their charity of choice this year and were keen to volunteer for us.

In May, ten of the SHW team became the first volunteers to help our new home when they planted 400 saplings of mixed varieties which had been donated to us. The saplings are currently in the east car park, which is a temporary home, where they can grow and flourish undisturbed before being used in the landscaping of our new hospice.

Although it was a really warm morning, the team made short work of the planting, finishing in just under two hours, allowing plenty of time for a well-deserved tea, coffee, and cake

The team enjoyed themselves so much that they want to come back later in the year to move the saplings to their permanent positions.

A massive thank you to the SHW team for their time and energy.
