Use your creativity to support your local community
The pandemic has meant many of our fundraising events and activities haven’t gone ahead in the last two years, so we’re facing a severe shortfall in our funding.
For those of us spending more time at home this time of year thanks to cold and rainy weather, we might find we have a bit more time to spend on our hobbies, need a creative way to express ourselves or simply want to have a go at something new.
Having a creative outlet is brilliant for mental health, particularly if you’re feeling the effects of the Winter blues. In fact, both giving and learning are part of Mind’s ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing‘!
Our wonderful community of supporters are bursting with creativity, and have been using their artistic skills to raise money for our hospice, from baking cakes, to hosting online musical events, film making, singing, sewing, painting and more.
Paint, draw, make, perform or build – can you find a creative way to fundraise for us?
After she couldn’t take part in our usual Midnight Walk this year, Maureen Ferrier didn’t let that stop her fundraising for St Catherine’s.
Getting out her sewing machine and “sewing like crazy every evening after work and weekends” Maureen set up her own Just Giving page, and started advertising her masks on Facebook. Making 400+ colourful masks to order, she has raised over £2000 for the hospice. Amazing!
When Julie Pescod heard that the marathon was cancelled and realised the impact COVID19 would have on our fundraising, she decided she wanted to help.
Inspired by a friend’s suggestion to draw a map of Wales, surrounded by images that reminded her of home, Julie got to work. She set up a JustGiving page and was sponsored by her friends. Spending days creating her piece, she was delighted to raise a fantastic £1000 for us with the drawing.
Results take minutes, can be printed or downloaded in a format that suits you, and allows you to easily create a poster or leaflet for your very own St. Catherine’s fundraiser!
Create an account and design your own posters, flyers and more…
So, if you are ready to Get Creative and start fundraising for us, help us provide the best end of life care for people in your community by setting up a Just Giving page.
